Damavand

Damavand is one of the longest-established names in Iran's beverage industry and a founding pioneer of the country's modern bottled-water sector. Damavand Mineral Waters Co. was established in 1974, at a time when bottled water was still an emerging category in Iran. Following the development of its production infrastructure and the identification of a suitable water source in the Damavand region, the first Damavand bottle was launched in 1977.

International know-how has played an important role in the company's development. Damavand's early operations were associated with the French company Perrier, while later stages of its history included cooperation with Castel/Vichy and Danone.

The company's production facility is located in Damavand, Tehran Province. According to the company, the site covers approximately 66,000 square metres and operates production lines incorporating French, German and American technology.

From Foodex Iran's perspective, Damavand's significance goes beyond longevity. It is one of the businesses that helped shape bottled water as a modern consumer category in Iran. Its continued operation across more than five decades makes Damavand an important case in the development of Iran's modern food and beverage industry.
