Dombaz

Dombaz is an Iranian food brand specializing in dates and value-added date products. Its manufacturing company, Khormabon Jonoub Corp., was founded in Bandar Abbas in 1999 by Hassan Ghanaatian Jabzari and initially operated as a date-packing business.

The company subsequently moved further into date processing. In 2002, it began producing liquid date sugar, which the company describes as the first product of its kind manufactured in Iran. Its portfolio has since expanded to include Persian date varieties, date syrup, paste, date sugar, date cream, vinegar, sauces and other processed date products.

Dombaz also operates internationally. The company reports exports to more than 15 countries, while Dombaz Food GmbH in Siegen, Germany, provides a direct commercial presence in the European market.

From Foodex Iran's perspective, Dombaz is particularly relevant as an example of value creation beyond agricultural commodity trading. By moving from date packing into processed ingredients and consumer products, the business demonstrates how an Iranian agricultural product can support a broader food-industry value chain and access international markets.
