Rouzaneh

Rouzaneh is an Iranian dairy brand whose commercial roots date to the late 1990s. Evidence of Rouzaneh products and branding activities exists from 1998, when the brand was associated with Sahar Dairy, its original developer.

A major turning point came in 2007 when the French Bel Group entered Iran through a joint venture with Sahar Dairy. Bel initially held 70% of the venture, which included the established Rouzaneh cheese brand. The group subsequently acquired its local partner's remaining stake and continued operations through Bel Rouzaneh Dairy Products Co.

Today, Bel officially lists Bel Rouzaneh as its operation in Iran, with headquarters in Tehran and a manufacturing site in Caspian Industrial Town, Qazvin Province. Rouzaneh remains its principal local brand, alongside international Bel brands such as Kibi and The Laughing Cow.

Rouzaneh's current portfolio is focused on milk and cheese, including plain and flavored milk and a range of white, portioned, flavored and probiotic cheeses.

From Foodex Iran's perspective, Rouzaneh offers an instructive example of a local Iranian brand that retained its identity after becoming part of an international food group. Rather than being replaced by the parent company's global brands, Rouzaneh continued as a local consumer brand within Bel's Iranian portfolio.
