About Shahsavand

Shahsavand is an Iranian tea and food brand formally established in 1997. Its roots, however, extend much further back: the company's current brand story traces the family's involvement in tea trading to 1924 and describes a four-generation continuity in the category. The modern Shahsavand brand emerged as this experience developed into a more structured industrial and commercial operation.

Tea has remained at the center of Shahsavand's identity. The company's early development included packaged black tea, CTC tea and flavored Iranian tea, followed by a broader range of black, green and specialty tea products. As production capacity expanded, herbal infusions and other food categories were gradually added to the portfolio.

The current Shahsavand portfolio extends into saffron, spices, rock candy, legumes, canned foods, powdered products and plant-based beverages. This development has transformed the business from a tea-focused operation into a broader packaged-food portfolio while tea continues to provide the clearest historical anchor for the brand.

The wider business has also developed a multi-brand structure. Names including Tabaran, Ati, TeaShop and Holiday operate alongside Shahsavand and address different product or consumer segments. For Foodex Iran, these brands are best treated as related brand entities rather than being merged into the Shahsavand product portfolio.

International market development has remained part of the group's activities through exports, international exhibitions and efforts to build relationships with overseas buyers and distributors. Current destination markets, however, should be verified independently before individual countries are attributed to the brand.

From Foodex Iran's perspective, Shahsavand offers an interesting example of a specialist tea business evolving into a broader FMCG portfolio. Its multi-generational tea heritage may provide a meaningful source of brand identity, while expansion into herbal infusions, saffron, spices, legumes and newer beverage formats increases the range of consumption occasions the business can address. At the same time, broader portfolios and multi-brand structures increase the importance of clear brand architecture, disciplined SKU management and consistent consumer communication. How effectively Shahsavand connects its tea heritage with newer categories may therefore remain an important dimension of its future development.
