About Shakelli
SHAKELLI is one of Iran's long-established food brands, with roots in the Shokravi family's dairy business in Tabriz. The brand's documented modern presence in Tehran dates to 1949, while the current corporate structure was formally established in 1977. Over the following decades, SHAKELLI developed from traditional dairy production into an industrial food business, with butter becoming the product category most closely associated with the brand.
The modern development of SHAKELLI is closely associated with founder Haj Mohsen Shokravi. The business expanded industrial production, introduced mechanized butter packaging and later developed a nationwide distribution structure through Safapakhsh.
SHAKELLI's current portfolio focuses on pasteurized butter, flavored butter, cream, confectionery cream, butter ghee and honey. Portion-sized butter and professional cream products also give the brand a presence beyond household retail, including foodservice and professional applications.
The brand also has a documented export history, with markets including the UAE, Azerbaijan, Nakhchivan, Turkmenistan, Qatar, Iraq and Oman reported by its export operation. SHAKELLI has also expanded the international protection of its trademark through an active WIPO registration.
From Foodex Iran's perspective, SHAKELLI's strongest strategic asset is not simply its age, but the category equity it has accumulated around butter. Recent developments such as flavored butters and Mocha cream suggest a particularly relevant path for a legacy brand: extending into new consumption occasions while remaining close to the product territory consumers already associate with the name.
